5 Reasons to Use Tiger's Eye in your Next Jewellery Project

Tiger's Eye, as its name suggests, has a golden-yellow lustre with bands of gold or brown. It is a chatoyant gemstone, which comes from the French "oeil de chat", and simply means that the bands and reflectance resemble those of the eye of a cat or tiger.

It is a quartz-based silica mineral, with a Mohs hardness of around 6.

There are many reasons to use Tiger's Eye in your projects; here are just a few:

  1. It is believed by many to have great healing qualities
  2. It is readily available in polished form, usually cut in a cabochon style that maximises its brilliance
